What It Did
The most comprehensive financial regulation since the New Deal. Created the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, established the Financial Stability Oversight Council to monitor systemic risk, imposed the Volcker Rule limiting proprietary trading by banks, and reformed mortgage lending standards to prevent predatory practices.
