What It Did
Replaced NAFTA with updated trade rules requiring higher labor and environmental standards, stronger intellectual property protections, and new digital trade provisions. Required 75% of auto content to be made in North America (up from 62.5%) and mandated that 40-45% of auto content be made by workers earning at least $16/hour.
